Church (Spiritual)

John 2:19-21 ERV ( Jesus at the Temple ) Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple and I will build it again in three days.” 20 They answered, “People worked 46 years to build this Temple! Do you really believe you can build it again in three days?” 21 But the temple Jesus meant was his own body. 22 After he was raised from death, his followers remembered that he had said this. So they believed the Scriptures, and they believed the words Jesus said.

Acts 2:40-47 NKJV ( A Vital Church Grows )  And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Acts 11:26 NLT ( The Church in Antioch of Syria ) When he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. Both of them stayed there with the church for a full year, teaching large crowds of people. (It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.)

‭‭1 Corinthians 3:16-17 ESV‬‬ ( Division in the Church )
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.

1 Corinthians 12:13 ERV ( The Body of Christ ) Some of us are Jews and some of us are not; some of us are slaves and some of us are free. But we were all baptized to become one body through one Spirit. And we were all given the one Spirit.

Ephesians 1:22-23 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.

‭Colossians 1:15-18 NLT‬ ( Christ Is Supreme )
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, 16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. 17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. 18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.

‭Colossians 1:24-25 NLT‬ ( Paul’s Work for the Church )
I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church. 25 God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you.
