When reading the Bible consider who is the: Writer, Audience, Time Period, Place.
Use 3-5 Bible translations if you can’t understand it in your preferred version:
Early Modern English Translation (low readability): KJV
Modern Translations (medium readability): NKJV, has more titles compared to other modern translations.
Modern Translations (higher readability): CSB, ESV, ERV, GNT, NASB, NLT, etc.
“Stay away from Bible versions specifically made by a denomination to maintain neutrality.“

- For starters read Big John (Book of John) and 3 Little John (1 John, 2 John, 3 John) and then the rest of the Bible.
- When you see Verily, verily… The next verses are very important.

- When you see a word “but”… The preceding sentence/verses are negated.

- Not just information, only Revelation brings transformation.
- Dedication consistency, faithfulness, discipline in reading the Word of God daily.
- Observation and Interpretation identify the book you are reading – The Law, Historical, Wisdom, Prophets, Epistles, Prophecy. Purpose of the book, who is the author, overall theme, overall tone, historical and cultural backdrops, who are the intended recipients of the book. Look at the Scripture as a whole.
- Meditation is repetition in thought. Keep the Word of God in your mind think on it constantly.
- Application Don’t just read the word, live it…. “For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (ref Matthew 13:12)

He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.….

Books of the Bible:
